Thank you for sharing Charlotte. I was about to go to sleep and then this came in. I loved watching the performance and realized I’d heard that music before. Then it came to me, the end credits of Blade Runner. I saw your moving words at the end about memory and time and I couldn’t help thinking of one of my favorite lines in any movie comes from the end of Blade Runner. Rutger Hauer sitting in the rain about to die. “All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.” Whenever I see an Ankh sign among the many things I contemplate is the Vetruvian Man and vice versa. The ankh represents life and the union of opposites.

Thank you for reminding me of the source of the music! I'd forgotten it over time, Lol! Blade Runner has some great songs. 🎶

The Egyptians were an advanced, spiritually enlightened culture. That's why Moses was sent to train with them before leaving to lead the Israelites.

Have a magical day, Chris! ✨💖✨

We are brought up with a lot of importance being placed on the holiday season. My brother took his life in October 2008 so that holiday season was depressing - adding an extra punch to my trauma. And then the next year was when my husband and I violently and tragically broke up. But by the holiday season I was with Randy. he has stopped celebrating the holidays for over 15 years. So that year in 2009 was the first time I never celebrated it and just pretended to be other days of the year. It freed me from a lot of depression. In a lot of ways the holiday season is a prison.

Instead of celebrating the holidays I celebrate every day with my love for God. I hope you find your way a little bit better this year. We are in this together my friend. 🙏✨🙏

My uncle had survived the Tet Offensive was an English teacher in Vietnam War his school was bombed out. He returned not the same man. He had suffered from PTSD but never would acknowledge that fact. Instead was going to save the world. Held classes for addiction. You can't save the world. And on an early Dec morning had his head separated fr his body by one of these insane fuks. Do not look to me for Mercy…

Great storytelling!

Quick FactFact - I promise I’ll connect it...

On the Vitruvian Man, if you follow the arm to the elbow and then bend it up to where it’s about level to the top of your head, that’s called the “zero point” if you’re a quarterback. It’s the anatomical point where there’s minimum torque on your throwing elbow or your shoulder’s rotator cuff; yet you’ll also get maximum velocity on your throw.

It’s something that takes a lot of practice (ie “rehearsal”). But to this day, I can still throw at nearly the same velocity and accuracy even though I graduated college over 20 years ago.

I’ve always felt that this was a skill gifted by God and I’ve always been grateful for that ability. I’m thankful if I’m able to use that gift to uplift others. It’s not about “look at me,” but “look at what’s possible with Grace and a mustard seed of faith. The game requires countless hours of practice and yes, even the occasional elbow brace, but I believe the result is only possible by way of God’s Glory.”

I got that same feeling from reading your piece.

Wow! I had no idea! Thank you for that but of enlightenment. Throwing a football using God’s established mathematics 🧮 🏈 😳🤗 I’m not surprised, but surprised at the same time. You should write a Substack on this subject. It’s so intriguing.

God gives us talents, which we need to massage and develop. to glorify Him!

Blessings to you! 🙏✨💖

Thanks for sharing, Charlotte. Another narrative by Plato:

"We are always trying to be relieved of our incompleteness and to bridge the gulf between one human being and another. Are we not like those pieces of coins broken in half for keepsakes with each of us forever seeking our missing part? May we be among the happy few to whom it is given to meet our other halves and be made complete." From The Symposium by Plato

Oh my goodness, I am such an idiot! 🤦🏻 I just realized I saw the Pendragons show back in (I think it was) 2004! I thought you looked so danged familiar when I read this earlier, then... BOOM - it hit me! 🤦🏻

My girlfriend at-the-time and I actually met you after the show; the entire night was a great experience, one of the few good memories I have from that time. So thank you for that ☺️

I do recall - it was in Greeley, CO; if memory serves me right, I believe it was in September (and I am pretty sure it was) of 2004.

It's so wild; I had the memory of going, remembered it was The Pendragons, but did not connect it all with the awesome 'Charlotte on Substack' woman until last night 😁

Weirdly, I tend to remember events based on the emotions created rather than specifics of the event itself. That's why it took a while for it all to coalesce in my brain 🤦🏻

And yes, that Light is amazing ☺️ So it's nice to meet you again... again 😉

Yes, I remember that show in Greeley for sure during that time! Indeed F September or early October. Our tours were always in the autumn! We had a second show in Denver! Blessings to you! ✨🙏🤗

Sometimes after having read, watched something once , twice again you start to notice details and things you didn't while reading the first time 😞

I read again cause something have bothered me since I read about Madonna, she's a great performer weak singer, maybe it's a huge difference between you two... You seem to had been working with a real fun and excitement and she's been tired as hell I have never seen a real human smile on her face I see yours at the pics all the time... ❤️❤️❤️ So you were enjoying your work she's been tired for long. Plus you got a gift to get ppl interested 🌿💙

Awww, so sweet of you! Thank you for the incredible compliment. 🤗🤗🤗✨✨✨ I feel special you have put me in a category of Madonna! Lol! Madonna is best known for her great songs. Some are second to none. A great artist.

Well I think your performance, her performance it's just a matter of a times and audience, taste.. I like her but as a human being but not necessarily her behaviour sometimes she goes too far... 👍🌿🌹

I'm not sure if you are cynical right now or not but truly appreciate your work hers as well.. 😉

Really great trick, Charlotte—and the story about it, and you and Jonathan's married life as magicians, was fascinating. I'm sorry your marriage ended so badly, and discovering that the two of you's friends are really your partner's friends and not yours hurts, deeply. If it weren't for two friends of my own in New York City, I think I would've fallen to pieces when my wife told me to get out of her house.
